Mark Faulk, author of The Naked Truth: Investing in the Stock Play of a Lifetime, has been covering financial fraud and naked short selling since early 2004. For the past six years, he and a small group of dedicated activists have been educating investors, Congress, the SEC, and even the President about the imminent danger of allowing rampant fraud to continue.

In his very first article on The Faulking Truth website on March 19, 2004, entitled ”Financial Terrorism in America”, he said: “In the end, this practice amounts to financial terrorism against the United States.” The phrase “financial terrorism” has come to epitomize the culture of greed and manipulation that dominates Wall Street.

Mark Faulk has written over 150 articles on financial fraud, more than any other journalist in the world. His articles have been reprinted or excerpted in major publications, including The Huffington Post and Financial Wire, and financial journals such as the prestigious Capco Journal of Financial Transformation. He has made numerous appearances on television and logged hundreds of hours in radio interviews.

In March of 2004, Faulk exposed a Canadian financial system that helped hedge funds naked short stocks from there, and when the scam moved to Germany, he exposed that too, convincing hundreds of victim companies to have their stocks removed from the Berlin-Bremen Stock Exchange.

He broke the story of the NBC Dateline naked short selling expose’ in June of 2004, and was the first to provide coverage of the story when it was repeatedly postponed, then finally aired as a 15 minute fluff piece.

After several of his articles were sent to every member of Congress, Faulk was contacted by a high-ranking public official in November of 2004 to help co-ordinate a Senate Banking Sub-Committee Hearing into naked short selling. He worked behind the scenes for eight months, but finally went public with the story after the hearing was delayed several times and then canceled by then Banking Committee Chairman Senator Richard Shelby.

He traveled to Washington DC to raise visibility for the issue. He exposed the corrupt hedge funds, the media controlled by Wall Street, and the failures of the SEC, NASD, and our elected officials to address the problem.

And all along, Mark Faulk warned everyone who would listen that if regulators and elected officials didn’t deal with the problem the end result would be economic collapse. In July of 2005, he coined the phrase “Wall Street vs. Main Street”, which would eventually be repeated in nearly every major publication in America.

Finally, on July 16, 2008, two months before the corruption on Wall Street sent the economy into freefall, in an article entitled “Five Years and a Trillion Dollars Short”, he wrote:

“Unless Americans speak out by the millions, our nation will be bankrupt. Unless we demand that action be taken now - before it’s too late - America risks falling into a depression triggered by the ruthless greed of the rich and powerful. We are truly at a crossroad in our nation’s history. It is up to us to decide whether we choose the road to prosperity or ruin.”

Faulk continues to cover the issue of financial fraud for Financial Wire, and is currently working on Wall Street Conspiracy, a major independent documentary about financial fraud scheduled for released in September of 2010.
